Kill LICE

I got tired of treating my kids with expensive chemical treatments that don't work and endanger their health. I did some research and came up with 2 solutions that are both inexpensive and safe.

#1-Mayonaise--completely saturate your child's [dry] hair with any full fat mayo. Cover with a regular plastic beauty cap such as you would find at a beauty shop OR use one of the larger Plastic bowl covers with the elastic [Saran Quick Covers] and leave to sit for 2-3 hours.

Wash out using Dawn dishwashing liquid [you may have to wash hair 3 or 4 times, but it's worth it.]. The oil from the mayo also helps make nit removal very easy comparitively. Works much better than Clear Nit Remover.

#2 Kerosene!! Fill a 2 liter bottle with kerosene from any store and keep it on hand. When headlice appear, have the child bend over the side of the bathtub, or even outside somewhere and pour the straight kerosene over the hair, saturating it well. If you do this in the tub, you will actually see the lice fall DEAD from their hair.

Scrub the kerosene through the hair thouroughly and allow to sit for a couple of minutes. The next step is very important! WASH HAIR WITH DAWN DISHWASHING LIQUID!! Wash several times to get rid of all the kerosene and dead lice. Make sure you get out all the nits.
